All Application Code Written In Caché Objectscript / M
Lastic GUI enables Windows functionality to be added to your Caché / M business systems without requiring any development in other languages. No Visual Basic, no Java, no HTML.

ALL your application code is written in Caché Objectscript / M.

Fast Development Times
Lastic GUI's visual form design facility - Lastic GUI Builder - enables user interfaces to be constructed in minutes. It's easy to use, and easy to learn.

Writing the application code is simple as well. If you can develop in M, you can develop with Lastic GUI. That's all there is to it.

No Maintenance Overheads
Lastic GUI subscribes to the 'thin client' browser paradigm - the minimal resource PC software uses parameters held within the Caché / M database to build the application windows.

No application software resides on the client PC. As a result, the majority of problems associated with client / server software maintenance and distribution disappear.

Integration With Legacy Software
A number of Caché / M development environments currently available require a 'methodology' type approach and control code production (generation) and database updating. This causes considerable problems when attempting to integrate such new software within existing environments.

Lastic GUI is not data-dictionary based and the developer has total control over global updating. Consequently, Lastic GUI can be freely intermixed with existing systems, enabling any conversion of legacy applications to be performed at your own pace rather than as a single 'big-bang'.

Lastic GUI includes an ANSI emulator enabling legacy applications to be operated from the same logon.

Mixed Environments
Even these days, not everyone within an enterprise has access to a PC. Dumb terminals are still fairly widespread.

Multiple GUI and character terminal users may communicate directly with a single host Caché / M application server - and run the same application!

Easy To Get Started
Since Lastic GUI requires NO data dictionary or library function maintenance, application development can commence on the day the system is installed!

Setting up Lastic GUI is simple too. Installation routines are provided for the distributed Caché / M database driver software.

A PC can be set up with Lastic GUI within minutes by simply copying the distribution files into the chosen directory. You can then incorporate the software into any one or more program groups.

An initialisation file and set-up routine are provided, enabling host database connections to be configured with ease.
